Winter Storm Warning - NY, NJ, CT tri-state area

Each time I check, the forecast gets worse, so I thought it would be appropriate to play this music, while reading the forecast below, which says 14" to 20" (35.56 cm to 50.8 cm) of snow with winds gusting as high as 50 mph (80.47 kph).

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 6 AM EST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 14 to 20 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Southern Fairfield, Northern Fairfield, Northern New Haven and Southern New Haven Counties.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 6 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Blizzard like conditions possible Monday afternoon, especially near the coast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.

  1. NWS in Taunton, MA just upped the totals 12 -18 inches. According to them, you're in that band, too. Either way, it's just too much and Night on Bald Mountain is perfect.
