This is 3 of 3 posts of photographs that I took of sculptures by local artist Anna Hyatt Huntington and 1 of 2 posts of photographs that I took at the Mark Twain Library in Redding, CT this past week.

There are a total of five "Torch Bearers" sculptures. "Huntington never sold her works; all were gifts." There used to be a 14 foot tall Torch Bearers sculpture at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, CT, however, in December 2013, they decided to auction theirs off for the money. By comparison, this one is only 64 inches tall (5.3 feet), according to that article.

  1. I'm glad to see this one displayed out where visitors can view it from all sides. No hiding in the greenery for this sculpture :)

  2. There really are some wonderful artists, not only do they come up with fantastic designs but they are able to produce it as a 3D sculpture such skill! Happy creative week, Angela xXx
