Blooming Yellow Forsythia - Picture

© All Rights Reserved
I took this picture of blooming yellow Forsythia flowers in my yard today. What makes this picture unusual is that it is almost Winter here, so these plants should be dormant. For the past few years, I've had a few blooms on these bushes at this time of year. These appeared despite the fact that we've had a hard frost and some nights in the upper 20s already.

This is my entry for this week's Weekly Top Shot #59.

  1. Yep, they should be blooming in spring! Guess this is a bonus bloom...wonder if you could bring in some more branches to bloom as well. Thanks for the picture!

  2. This is an amazing thing that is also happening in my part of the world. I still have hanging baskets outside still in bloom.

  5. That is unusual, I have a pink Rhododendron that throws out a couple blooms this time of year too... Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #59!
