9-11 Memorial

Sherwood Island State Park, Westport, CT

"Prior to September 11, 2001 the twin towers of the World Trade Center were visible from Sherwood Island. On September 11, 2001 and for several days following, smoke from the former World Trade Center was visible from this location."

This is a map showing the line of sight from this memorial to Manhattan. 

I prefer not to share my memories of 9/11/2001. As long as I am cognizant, I will never forget this day.

    Still, a very fitting memorial and remembrance to this day in history. I had NO idea you lived that close to NYC (Manhattan).
