"Old World Map"

This week’s Three Muses challenge was “Maps.” I always loved old world maps, especially the ones with sea monsters on them. I made the border based on a map I saw, then added images from several different maps to create my scene. Once again, this challenge led me to a good source for images at the Library of Congress Map Collections which I have added to my resources links on the right hand side of my blog.

  1. I love the old maps too, Anne. This is beautifully done, and thanks for the link as well.
(I'm a bit stiff and "creaky", but mostly recovered from my spill, except to have the stitches removed in a week. Thanks for your thoughts).

  10. I really like the elegance of this piece Anne... I was going to use 1 of 2 large map scrapbooking papers for my piece originally, but I liked the maps so much I just couldn't!! So, out came the old school Atlas, in all its plasticky glory!
