This week's Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Picnic."
This is also my entry for Tuesday's Treasures.
I started with a vintage advertisement page for Picnic Grounds and Summer Resorts, which used to be popular in the United States. I added a gingham pattern and plates. Then I added some bees, which always used to show up when my family had summer picnics in our backyard. I used friendly honey bees for this, but it was actually nasty Yellow Jackets that showed up for our outdoor dining.
I created this using GIMP 2.8.16.
The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)
A note to my fellow Americans: In case you didn't read it in the news, the US Government finally released the redacted declassified 9/11 28 pages. I urge everyone to read the document yourself, instead of blindly believing what the Media tells you it says about the Saudi Arabian Government! "It was clear from about 1996 that the Saudi Government would not cooperate with the United States on matters relating to Usama Bin Ladin." Doesn't the worst mass attack of civilians on US soil that ushered in the Patriot Act and wholesale spying on every American (including recording all of our phone calls) deserve the time it will take you to read the 28 pages? If not, all hope truly is lost for this country.
