"Comic Strip Background - Woman" - Postcard

© All Rights Reserved
This is 1 of 2 postcards that I created using a Comic Strip for the background. My piece was inspired by this artwork on Anjas Artefaktotum. (She creates a lot of great artwork and usually includes the steps involved.)

I created this using GIMP 2.8.16.

I applied "Gesso" over the background using a brush.

The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)

The words are from the song Need You Now by Lady Antebellum.

I created a black piece, for reasons that I will keep to myself. I rarely share any personal information about myself on my blog, and the driving force behind this piece is private.

I created this using GIMP 2.8.16.

The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)

The words in the foreground are from the song Make the World Go Away by Eddy Arnold.

The words in the background are from the song Demons by Imagine Dragons.

Christmas Eve Sunset Fog - Photograph

I took these photographs at sunset on Christmas Eve in Fairfield, CT, at Lake Hills Beach #2 (by the Samp Mortar Dam).

Heavy thick fog was sitting on top of the lake and rolling across the road at the bridge at Black Rock Turnpike (although it was thin there). I just managed to catch the tail end of a red sunset which reflected on the water.

The weather has been unseasonably warm here, which resulted in the fog. On Christmas day, I felt more like I was in Florida than Connecticut, with how warm it was.

I took these photographs at Long Beach Park in Stratford, CT this past week.

I liked how the sun rays shone down through the clouds, which were otherwise grey with the threat of rain. Long Island was barely visible across the Sound. It has been unseasonably mild here, and we might set a record high on Christmas Day.

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Nutcracker."

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone at SPA!

Small Nutcrackers - Photograph

© All Rights Reserved
This is 1 of 3 posts of photographs that I took of Christmas decorations in my house.

I love nutcrackers and have them all around the living room as part of my Christmas decorations. These small nutcrackers are on a shelf in front of some rhinoceros decor (that is normally on display). I liked how this photograph came out.

This is 2 of 3 posts of photographs that I took of Christmas decorations in my house.

I love nutcrackers and have them all around the living room as part of my Christmas decorations. This drummer nutcracker is on a shelf behind a Christmas stocking and in front of a rhinoceros (that is normally on display). I liked how this photograph came out and might try to make it into a Christmas card (if I have time).

Nativity - Photograph

This is 3 of 3 posts of photographs that I took of Christmas decorations in my house.

Growing up, we always had a Nativity on our mantelpiece, as part of our Christmas decorations. As an adult, the year I decided I wanted to get a Nativity to display in my own house, there were none in any of the stores. The past few years, I have seen them in the stores again, and I got this one. (I purchased a few extra animals, to go along with it.)

I love the Nativity scene and nativity ornaments the most, because that is what Christmas is about. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior. The New Testament is filled with examples of Jesus' compassion, forgiveness, and love for mankind.

I created more Christmas tags to use as decorations on my Christmas Tree.

I created these using GIMP 2.8.16.

"December" - Tag

I created this for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2015 - December challenge.

I created this using GIMP 2.8.16.

I made mine slightly differently than what he did.

I created the wreath using individual holly leaves, like Tim did, but I used red holly berries for accents, instead of bells. One of the red berries got covered up when I added the bow, which I preferred on the bottom, instead of the top where his was.

The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)

Because my artwork is digital, and Tim Holtz's challenge is intended for people who buy his products, I don't normally post my tags on his site, but this time I am, to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
