This is 3 of 3 posts of photographs that I took of a Woodpecker couple this week.

Whenever I put seed in my bird feeder, this male woodpecker would fly in, take a few bites, then fly off into a nearby tree. I could never get any good photos of him, because he didn't stay still long enough. When I took these shots, I finally realized what he was doing. I stopped focusing on the bird feeder and looked over at the tree. The female woodpecker (his mate) was in the tree, and he was taking seeds to feed to her!

If you look closely at the second photo, you'll see the seed in his beak that he's about to give to her.
