Great Blue Heron - Photographs

This is 1 of 3 posts of photographs I took at the Reservoir in Easton, CT yesterday.

This heron was standing as still as a statue. At first I didn't know what type of bird it was, because I forgot that when they aren't hunting, they coil in their neck.

He's just having a rest Anne. Neck will be out very soon, as soon as food appears likely!

The heron is cute with his neck all scrunched down. He doesn't look like the same bird.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting.

They do look quite different when they hunch down, don't they?
