This is 1 of 4 posts of photographs I took this past week at the reservoir in Easton, CT. The first photo is my best ever of a Great Egret! I was thrilled I was able to time this shot perfectly. There were turtles in the foreground of these shots.

The first photo is my entry for the following:

This is 4 of 4 posts of photographs I took this past week at the reservoir in Easton, CT. A group of turtles was resting on this log until an interloper came along, and started knocking them off. The interloper tumbled into the water during the scuffle, and then there was one.

Blue Jays - Photographs

I took these photographs of two Blue Jays that were in my yard today. At first I thought the one bird was injured or dead because of the way its wings were spread out. It remained motionless for about a minute, but just when I decided to walk over to check on it, it flew off. I snapped the first photo right after that, before the remaining bird flew off also.

I took these photographs of a Crow in my bird feeder in the past month. The shots are grainy and blurry because they were taken through a closed window. I haven't done much photography lately because it has been very hot here for quite a while, seemingly since the day summer began.

In case you didn't see it reported in the news, on July 19, 2013, the rubber stamp Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court renewed the United States Government's authority to collect telephony metadata in bulk, in violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution.

If you mistakenly believe they aren't also recording all phone calls, on June 7, 2013, President Obama's own words prove they are RECORDING all of our phone calls: They have all of the content, but if they want to "go further than just that top-line data" and "listen to (a) phone call" they "have to" ask a federal judge to do "further probing." If you have the ability to go back and listen to the content, then you ARE recording all of the phone calls, not just the metadata.

These are the relevant sentences from the Wall Street Journal transcript:

"When it comes to telephone calls, nobody is listening to your telephone calls... They are not looking at people’s names, and they’re not looking at content... If these folks — if the intelligence community then actually wants to listen to a phone call, they’ve got to go back to a federal judge, just like they would in a criminal investigation... And so not only does that court authorize the initial gathering of data, but I want to repeat, if anybody in government wanted to go further than just that top-line data and wanted to, for example, listen to Jackie Calmes’s phone call, they’d have to go back to a federal judge and — and — and indicate why, in fact, they were doing further — further probing."
