"Mail Art" - Postcard Address Side

© All Rights Reserved
This week’s Three Muses challenge was “Mail Art.” This is the second time they’ve used this theme, and it’s one of my favorites! I designed this postcard address side based on several early American postcards.

On a scary note, we had a tornado warning again here in Fairfield County on Wednesday, and NOAA confirmed three tornadoes touched down in Litchfield County. Tornadoes are rare here, and we can’t see them coming in the distance, the way they can in “Tornado Alley” where they are more common.

Ghostly Energy Orbs or Near-Camera Reflections?

© All Rights Reserved
This is one of the night photographs I took at Union Cemetery in Easton, CT last night. While taking them, these “orbs” appeared in most of the pictures, and I got excited and scared, thinking I was photographing ghostly energy. However, when I got home, I took two test pictures in my driveway, and one also had “orbs” in it. Research on the internet suggests these were merely orb backscatter, or near-camera reflection which is common with digital cameras at night.

There were a few pictures with a different phenomena in them, so I’m going to go back to the cemetery again, and do a more controlled photography session, to see what I get.

My daytime photos can be seen here.

I took those pictures in the allegedly haunted Union Cemetery in Easton, CT last night. There are some interesting gravestones in it, but I didn’t see any ghosts. I also took some pictures after dark, and captured some “orbs” that were unseen by my eye, however, I need to do additional scientific testing to determine whether or not they were simply light reflections like sun spots in a photograph, or something else. I will post more pictures once my tests are complete.
