"Stained Glass Woman Window"

© All Rights Reserved
This week’s Three Muses challenge was “Windows.” This is my second creation, and is closer to the medieval stained glass window that I had envisioned making. Purely by accident, I created the woman with the appearance you see here, which looks like a style of Christmas ornament that I love but can’t remember the name of. (It’s a thin opaque milky white glass type material, usually made as angels and stars, with pseudo silver lead stained glass edging.) I had to reverse engineer the woman, to figure out how she was created, because I couldn’t duplicate what I had done the first time, to make her, and I want to be able to do this same affect again with other images. (Don’t ask how many hours that took.) Then I created the stained glass window framing around her. I’m not sure the frame looks exactly like what I wanted, but I’m thrilled about my discoveries! It was worth the time I spent on it.

Updated 14:00 EDT: The ornaments I was thinking of are capiz angels and stars. I think they are made using capezio shells.

I love the opal affect of the stain glass.

Half the fun of "arting" is when serendipity leads us to knew ways to express ourselves. This is quite unique Anne. Thanks for sharing!

This is gorgeous, Anne. I know you have been working hard to achieve a medieval look and it has happened for you! Great work.
